Well, today was the end of an era in some respects. I had to go to the garage and empty Donald of my personal belongings, then hand the keys back to the garage in preparation for the long tow to Ashford, Kent. We had 5 great years together, he came into my life around my 21st birthday as the ultimate first car. We drove all over the UK (and got a tow here and there remembering to laugh all the while), from Ashford, to Rye and Skegness, to Hertfordshire and Nottingham, to Scotland and Blackpool. We went camping, to the beach in the rain and snow, got lost around city ringroads, we even went to a couple of festivals.
We certainly had many mini adventures. The saddest part is that I won’t get to have one last drive as he’s currently sat with a cracked head. The last journey we had was the regular Ashford to Nottingham. It ended 5 junctions away from the A52. A rather pleasant location at the side of the M1 accompanied by many, many little insects. Definitely not a place to have a picnic. So at the end of one great adventure ready to start the next. Donald is to be put towards the next chapter as part of the Government scrappage scheme.
Here’s to Donald! I’ll miss you x
Having always wanted to keep a diary of sorts, but I guess being afraid (of what I’m not sure), this seems a most fitting time. At the age of 26 and 4 months, living in a one bed flat in Nottingham, working as a web designer. This will be a photo diary of my next adventures to come, with friends, family and everything else inbetween. My thoughts, musings and many ideas for projects I never complete.
